As well as filling their front rows with slebs (in this instance Pixie Lott, Jameela Jamil and Lisa Snowdon) PPQ have always been great coats and accessories. Amy Molyneaux and Percy Parker have tried their hand at every manner of thing- from Speedo swimsuits to Sherry co-branding, splashing the PPQ name and sprinkle of hipness dust over anything and anything, and maybe losing a little of the label’s specialness in the process. But Autumn/Winter is PPQ’s season- with the colder weather jut the excuse they need to do what they do best. The vintage inspired cover ups in this collection were just lovely- with gorgeous noir-ish coats and wrap dresses of the type you could imagine the Black Dahlia in, and whopping great patent bags to match. We’ll forgive them for again reissuing the Gabrielle expandable bag (it is surely the Sugababes of accessories)- it’s as bloody fabulous as ever, even if it’s not particularly new.
The collection also showcased the latest string to the prolifically strung PPQ bow- a glossy, glorious bike range, walked down the catwalk for the brand’s finale. A gleaming glider bike with a patent handbag in place of a basket? PPQ, you are right up our street.
